Hi Cindy,
Our program has a number of PPM/ICD clinics in our catchment area, and the primary site is in a building close to, but not in the hospital itself. Our staffing is a nurse only model with nurses doing the interrogations, and 1-2 nurse practitioners available to help support while doing pre-op and more complicated patient assessments. There is a physician assigned to be clinic support should they require further support. We occasionally direct admit from clinic if required where the nurse would bring the patient over to the main building depending on acquity.

We will be moving our ICD/PPM clinic off-site from the hospital. Does anyone have any feedback regarding their experiences being off-site? What is your clinical staff composition? Do you have only nurses preforming interrogations or do you have techs as well? What are some policies and procedures you have in place?
Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
