This message is from the secretary who helps with scheduling and PRecerts .
precert sent me the link below regarding MICRAS. States they are for "research" and/or "study". We cannot get MICRAS approved anymore. I'm not sure what has changed, but the last 2 I have scheduled I spend a lot of time on them. I honestly don't have the time to keep going back and forth with the precert team trying to find something that meets medical necessity. I give them CHB, SSS, Bradycardia, afib, name it - I give them every DX I possibly can - nothing meets medical necessity. The one for tomorrow doesn't need an auth, but since the DX's don't meet medical necessity, they are making the patient sign a waiver when he gets here. If anyone has any insight on any of this, and can help these pass, please let me know.
Does anyone have any suggestions.
We do have Medtronic Micra rep looking into this also.
