  • 1.  Financial Spreadsheet mentioned in the HRS announcement for updated Device Clinic Guidelines

    Posted 06-07-2023 09:44

    Hello,

The updated guidelines were announced at HRS. During the presentation, they had a spreadsheet where they plugged in an average device clinic's typical numbers to come up with their findings on the staff to patient ratio. It was stated they will try to share the spreadsheet so other clinics can use that with their corresponding numbers. Has the spreadsheet been shared anywhere? I can't find it.

    Thanks,

    Aimee

    Hi Aimee,

We have not yet shared that spreadsheet. Once we have the finalized version, we will post it here in this community and on our HRS Clinical Resources webpage for everyone to access.

    Best,

    Angela

I'm very keen to see the spreadsheet also, it is extremely relevant to the development of local policies.

We will need to translate it somewhat for the Australian context.

In Australia, the typical work week is 38 hrs, not 40. If providing the technical support for implants/revisions as well as manning the clinics, remote monitoring, MRI support etcetera, (typical for Australian public hospitals), then my calculation is 3.3 FTE per 1000 patients.
I'd also be keen to hear more about admin support roles - scope of practice/typical duties/background training etcetera.
