I’m excited to announce a new collaboration between EP Edge™ Journal Watch Podcast and the Heart Rhythm Society.
Over the past five months, EP Edge™ Journal Watch has grown into a weekly educational platform focused on concise, high-yield analysis of the most important and clinically relevant studies in cardiac electrophysiology and cardiovascular medicine. During that time, we have reviewed and discussed approximately 150 trials spanning atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, pulsed field ablation, conduction system pacing, stroke prevention, device therapy, heart failure, imaging, autonomics, anticoagulation, and emerging technologies shaping modern EP practice.
As part of this collaboration, EP Edge Journal Watch will continue its weekly podcast releases, with an additional monthly collaborative episode with HRS highlighting key studies and themes from the preceding Journal Watch issues.
The goal of EP Edge Journal Watch has always been straightforward:
• Deliver concise, clinically actionable trial reviews
• Explain why a study matters mechanistically and practically
• Discuss strengths and limitations honestly
• Go beyond headlines and abstract conclusions
• Provide an independent electrophysiologist perspective on how these data may or may not influence real-world practice
Importantly, we do not focus only on large “late breaker” trials. Some of the most practice-changing discussions come from smaller mechanistic studies, observational datasets, workflow papers, safety analyses, registry experiences, and emerging technologies that may otherwise receive limited attention despite major clinical relevance.
Each episode is designed to be high-yield and time-efficient for electrophysiologists, cardiologists, fellows, APPs, trainees, and anyone interested in evidence-based arrhythmia care.
Typical episode structure includes:
• Trial rationale
• Study design and methodology
• Key findings
• Statistical interpretation
• Safety signals and limitations
• EP Edge Take: practical clinical interpretation and perspective
Recent topics covered have included:
• CHAMPION-AF
• ADVENT
• VOLT IDE
• OCEAN
• ALONE-AF
• PRAETORIAN-DFT
• Pulsed field ablation safety and stroke/TIA signal analyses
• Conduction system pacing
• Left atrial appendage occlusion
• VT ablation strategies
• Wearable and digital arrhythmia technologies
• Emerging antiarrhythmic therapies
• AI applications in electrophysiology
• Lifestyle modification and AF progression
Importantly, every EP Edge Journal Watch podcast episode is accompanied by a companion EP Edge Journal Watch newsletter containing detailed graphics, trial summaries, critical appraisal, and full references for each featured study. These companion newsletters are designed to extend the learning experience beyond the audio discussion and serve as a practical educational reference for clinicians and trainees.
The EP Edge Journal Watch newsletters are available on:
• LinkedIn EP Edge™ Journal Watch Newsletter
• EP Edge™ Substack
You can listen to EP Edge Journal Watch on:
• Apple Podcasts
• Spotify
• YouTube
• Amazon Music
• EP Edge™ Podcast Hub
I’m genuinely excited about this collaboration with the and the opportunity to expand high-quality, clinically grounded educational discussion across the EP community.
Looking forward to continuing the conversation and learning together with the broader electrophysiology community.
