Allied Professionals Community of Practice

    Dear Colleagues,<u5:p></u5:p>

As many of you know, I have dedicated many years working to elevate Allied Health Professionals, our hard work, the leadership in our field, and today I want to ask for your help on an issue that impacts every device clinic.<u5:p></u5:p>

CPT 93296, the technical code for pacemaker and ICD remote monitoring, has been submitted to CMS as potentially misvalued. CMS has acknowledged the request but made it clear they need more real-world input from the clinical community before moving forward. That means now is the time for us to speak up.<u5:p></u5:p>

We all know the reality: the work behind remote monitoring is far more complex than the current valuation reflects. It isn't just a quick data check - it's patient enrollment and education, connectivity management, triaging unscheduled alerts, analyzing transmissions, reporting results, and supporting patients on a daily basis. Clinics across the country are stretched thin, and without fair reimbursement, it is impossible to staff appropriately or meet the growing demand.<u5:p></u5:p>

This is why our voices matter. CMS is asking for input, and the more comments they receive from those of us doing the work, the stronger our case becomes. Please take a few minutes to submit your own comment and describe what this work looks like in your clinic.<u5:p></u5:p>

    1. Create your comment here:  http://bit.ly/4mRtRsT

It's as easy as 1-2-3: click, paste, submit. Let's ensure CMS hears directly from the professionals delivering this patient care day after day.<u5:p></u5:p>

    Thank you, Martha,

Wow was that ever easy! We have been concerned about the devaluing of the skills needed to appropriately interpret CIED data, the possible reduction 93296 is a perfect example. Thank you for making our voices heard.

As a reminder, today is the last day to submit your comments to CMS regarding valuation of the 93296 CPT code.  Please find time today to speak your mind.
    Thank you.
