  • 1.  24-48hour Holter

    Posted 12-11-2024 15:36

    Hello,

Are there any facilities out there that are moving away from 24-48hour Holter monitoring?

We have some outdated Holters and software at our facility and looking at what options are out there for replacement of these monitors. What are some thoughts on current ambulatory monitoring companies currently available?

    Thank you!

    Angie

    Hi Angie,

So we moved away from the old school holters and use VitalConnect for patch based monitoring.  It allows us to still do a holter if we want to, but gives us the flexibility of longer duration and availability to have MCOT or event monitor all through the same setup.  It's also now integrated into our Epic so that once the order goes in, the report is attached to the order and sent to the ordering MD's inbox and they draft up a report and the documentation from the monitor is attached to the report.

In our system we are still utilizing 24-hour Holter's.  In fact, we utilize GE monitors to perform 12 lead, 24-hour Holter monitoring for some of our patients as well as standard Holter's.

We have moved to VitalConnect for most of our extended Holters, events and MCT monitors.  Most of our providers have transitioned to extended Holter's.  We continue to utilize Preventice for some of our patients because the phone will provide translative functions in quite a few languages.

I hope this information is helpful.

    Best regards,
