Is anyone aware of any data published on the safety of subcutaneous coils with MRI?  The coils are not MRI conditional. My pubmed search turned up empty. Have a patient with personality changes that neuro would iike to get an MRI on, but would like to know if there is any safety data out there before we make a decision.

If anyone has info or studies on this it would be the manufacturer.  I would check with them.  However, the problem is you can't monitor the coil.

Already checked with them. Just wondering if anyone has done them and seen issues after the MRI. I am inclined to not authorize the MRI. My feeling is that if a patient needs to coil for successful defibrillation, I am not eager to risk the coil.

My understanding is that current conditional protocols can only be applied to systems with endovascular leads.  If part of the system is epicardial or subQ, then there is no cooling blood flow around that component to mitigate against potential heating effects.
